Is your hairline receding or showing signs of thinning? Is your hair coarse, curly, fizzy, and unmanageable? Not to worry – extra virgin coconut oil is one of the very best natural nutrients for your hair.
Organically grown or wild harvested extra-virgin coconut oil is a product produced from fresh coconut milk and meat. Avoid non-virgin coconut oil that is processed from inferior grade copra or dried coconut meat.
If your goal is healthy, thick, long hair, coconut oil is the remedy. Coconut oil works to condition hair and scalp while promoting the re-growth of previously damaged hair. It stimulates hair growth by nourishing your scalp. If you are suffering from hair loss, massage your scalp properly with warm coconut oil at bedtime regularly. You will notice the difference in new growth within a few weeks.
Applied topically, coconut oil promotes healthy hair growth, is an excellent conditioner, gives you shiny nourished hair and is effective in reducing protein loss. Coconut oil helps the re-growth process by providing essential proteins and nutrients required for nourishing and healing damaged hair. Coconut oil is tan integral ingredient in many hair care oils and is used extensively in manufacturing various conditioners and dandruff relief products in the beauty industry.
Applying extra-virgin coconut oil to the hair can help reduce protein loss that can leave the hair dry, dull and damaged. Massage a few drops of the oil into your hair after showering to help damaged hair regrow and to address the damage from hygral fatigue. Massaging coconut oil into the scalp also helps reduce dryness that can lead to dandruff.
Add 3 to 4 drops of thyme, rosemary and wild sage essential oils to an ounce of extra-virgin coconut oil. These healing herbs help improve circulation to the scalp and compliment the hair growing properties of the coconut oil. Men and women with short hair can apply the mixture prior to shampooing or use a few drop as a hair tonic after shampooing. Persons with long hair can use the mixture as a hair mask. Before bedtime, saturate the bottom half of the hair length with the mixture, roll the hair into a bun and shampoo out the healing oils in the morning.
Coconut Oil And Head Lice
Yikes! There is nothing more embarrassing than to discover that you or a family member harbor head lice. Before you rush off to the pharmacy to buy a bunch of chemical laden and expensive products that can actually damage hair and health, reach for the coconut oil.
Applied liberally to hair, extra-virgin coconut oil is an effective and natural way to rid the hair and scalp of lice and nits. Coconut oil contains some fats, which prevents live lice from clinging to the air and smothers lice eggs.
To eliminate head lice, rinse the hair with straight apple cider vinegar. Then cover the hair with coconut oil and cover with a shower cap. Leave the coconut on the hair for a couple of hours. Comb out nits and lice with a fine-toothed comb. After a through shampoo and rinse the problem will be gone.
